Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been a leader, adressing dissatisfaction with the arrival of Mike Sonko of Wiper in the governorship race for the area.
Governor Joho and the incumbent leaders demanded that Mombasa voters not be forced to elect Sonko as their governor.
Hassan Joho and other Government officials from the county joined residents to celebrate the Eid Council celebrations.
It was during these speeches that Governor Joho and the leaders in attendance urged Mombasa voters not to be forced to elect Sonko as their governor.
The leaders urged the people of the county to make sure they elect leaders who understood them well, and not to nominate candidates nominated by certain leaders.
Instead, they hailed the ODM candidate who is a Member of Parliament for Mvita, Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir saying he is a leader who cares about the interests of the people.
Shahbal said ODM leader Raila Odinga, assured him that if elected president, he would restore the services of the Mombasa port to coastal residents for the benefit of the port.
Businessman Suleiman Shahbal, a former Mombasa governor, has come out and called on his supporters to support Nassir to succeed Joho.
At the same time, the race for the post of nominee is a candidate for the Azimio la Umoja Declaration.
Leaders present at the Eid Council described Hassan Joho as a sufficient leader to hold the position.
