The man accused of killing Samuel Mugoh Muvota in Mirema, Nairobi surrendered to police on Monday in a controversial situation.
Dennis Karani Gachoki pleaded not guilty and met Muvota only twice, once in Meru and Nairobi.he surrendered to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation at headquarters accompanied by a lawyer.
“I am not guilty and I will prove this. I did not kill anyone they say I killed him, ”Gachoki said.”I have never contacted Muvota, we have never done business together or anything related to money.”he said he felt his life was in danger so he decided to surrender.
He also testified that he had a case in Meru court where he was accused of receiving money obtained through fraudulent means.Gachoki, who said he had been to Nakuru, added that he was aware that he was wanted by police on Friday through a friend.
“Someone who recognized my photo informed me that I was wanted. I have not known peace since then, ”he said.Gachoki, who spoke to the media, added he had no contact with the deceased and they last met in March last year.Detectives arrested Gachoki, who hails from Kirinyaga County, for further investigation.
