The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the report of 12 countries that reported 80 cases of the trending Monkeypox disease and that they are still investigating another 50 claims of the disease and warned the Nations in the World to take precautions.
According to a statement issued by the WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr. Hans Henri Kluge, named the countries as Germany, Sweden, Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and UK .
The spread of this dermatitis has also been confirmed in European countries,America, Canada and Australia but in Africa it is found in remote parts of Africa Central and West.
The disease, which is caused by the virus from animals to humans in Africa, is said to occur in communities closer to the forests of central and West Africa than in wildlife reserves.
Doctor Kluge said cases of Monkeypox patients have been identified in the clinic specific sexually transmitted diseases and that the infection does not involve travel interactions although same-sex love for men is one of the reasons.
However, the symptoms of patients diagnosed in Europe show similarities recently reported in Australia, Canada and the United States but there is no contagious relationship based on traveler interactions,” DR Kluge explained.
Either Dr. Kluge noted that the World health organization is continuing to conduct research in those countries, the disease has emerged to obtain information that will help the diagnosis of other cases although it is not yet known the prevalence of infection in the community.
Currently the symptoms are minimal and most of those infected will recover within a few weeks treatment except this disease can be more severe especially in young children, women, pregnant women and people who are not immune. ” directed Doctor Kluge.
Monkeypox disease is transmitted through contact with a person with skin lesions, inhaling droplets of air from an infected person or body fluids, having sex, or sharing items with an infected person.
WHO indicates that the symptoms of the disease may be small but the rashes do occur on the skin itchy and painful and has appealed to anyone with symptoms of rashes.
It is rare for a hospital to seek the advice of a health care provider. There is still no specific cure for Monkeypox but the smallpox vaccine is said to provide 85% protection as the two viruses are one family and the risk of infection is low.
