President Uhuru Kenyatta did not think twice about endorsing Martha Karua as running mate for Azimio La Umoja flag bearer Raila Odinga. Therefore, Karua’s entry into the coalition also made Uhuru Kenyatta to reportedly take a step back in campaigning for Raila as he believed she was capable of swinging Mount Kenya vote in favor of Azimio La Umoja. Previously, Uhuru promised to campaign for Raila, but his proxies have recently come out to State that he will not be part of campaign trail.

According to reports, Uhuru is seeing Azimio to be strong enough to win the forthcoming elections. Thus, he took a more behind the scene with role of financing and coordinating Azimio campaigns. In other words, Peter Munya and Martha Karua are currently tasked with responsibility of winning votes in the Mount Kenya region. In fact, experts have also revealed that, since Karua’s election for the running mate position in Azimio, Azimio has been fast arising into popularity, beating its greatest rival Kenya kwanza led by deputy president William Ruto.
