In Kigoma Tanzania. A group of monkeys from Gombe reserve in Mwamgongo village in Kigoma district, raided the house of Shayima Faya (20) and snatched the baby while she was breastfeeding and disappeared with him in the bush where the baby later died.
Speaking on Monday June 20, 2021 Kigoma Regional Police Commander, James Manyama said the incident took place on June 18, 2022 in the village.
He said after the incident the woman screamed for help and neighbors came out to control the wild animal who threw the baby down with already wounded head, face and left leg.
“Wananchi walifanikiwa kulikimbiza kundi hilo la nyani lililomvamia mwanamke huyo wakati akimnyonyesha mwanaye, na kufanikiwa kumpata mtoto akiwa amejeruhiwa lakini baada ya kufikishwa kituo cha afya Mwamgongo alifariki dunia,” Said Manyama, Kigoma Regional Police Commander.
