Nakuru senator Susan Kihika has responded to a petition seeking the revocation of her governor’s application on the grounds that she is not a Kenyan citizen.
Using her Verified twitter page on Tuesday evening, Kihika mocked the allegations, implying that the citizenship dispute was brought about only by people who wanted her to abandon her aspirations.
She further questioned how the allegations surfaced as she sought the seat of Nakuru Governor, but was not stopped when she ran for the Senate seat.

Her statement come after Joseph Kimani Njuguna on Tuesday filed a petition with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEBC) seeking re-election in August.
The complainant alleges that the senator relinquished her Kenyan citizenship in 2003 for US citizenship.
