Gershom Wanyonyi who is one of the KDF soldiers who were abducted by the Al Shabaab militants back in 2016 has not yet been released, he is one of the soldiers who were present in the El adde KDF camp (which was located in Somalia) during the deadly Al Shabaab attack which left over 100 KDF soldiers dead.

Many people including Gershom Wanyonyi’s family thought that he was among the list of soldiers who perished until early last year when the militants released a video footage of him asking for help from the government, according with the video footage Gershom was going through a lot of suffering and was asking the government to help him get his freedom back.

The militants are willing to make a deal with the government so as to release Gershom but it has been somehow impossible for Kenya is one of the countries in the world that does not associate with terrorist groups in any way.
