Mawanga in Nakuru County has been in the headlines in the past few days given the deaths of women in the area that have shocked the entire nation.
Three women who lived alone were raped and killed in a similar manner and the National Police Service through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations had to act quickly and put an end to this menace.
The Interior Security Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, visited the area and promised the residents swift justice for the families of the victims of the rapings and murders.
This morning, according to the Official Social Media Handle of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, a man who is believed to be behind the brutal raping and murders of the three women was arrested yesterday afternoon.
The man, identified as Evans Michori Kebwaro was arrested in Keroka, Kisii County where he has been hiding since police raided the Mawanga Area in Nakuru looking for the culprits.
Before getting to Nakuru, Kebwaro had disclosed his accomplices who were also rounded up and taken into custody as per the reports that we have.
The rest of the gang were Julius Otieno, 27 years old, Josphat Simiyu, 24, Dennis Mmbolo 25 years old, Isaac Kinyanjui, 18 and Makhoha Wanjala, 25.
