A man who lost his mother in a deadly accident that occurred along Mombasa – Nairobi Highway has finally opened up about the untimely death of his mother claiming that he is yet to come to terms with the untimely death of the deceased.
According to the reports given by the man who has been identified as Samuel Matta, he claimed that he had called his mother who was travelling on that fateful day.
He says that he had talked to her prior to the accident and she had told him she would call him later,which she didn’t do prompting him to try and call her again.
“I called my mom who told me that she was attending a wedding and i told her to call me as soon as she gets there safely. I later called her and her phone wasn’t being answered. I didn’t know what happened until I saw on news that several people who were heading to Mombasa had died in an accident. I didn’t believe it until i came and that’s when I confirmed she was actually dead “, he said.
Addressing this issue, The National Police Service has revealed that the driver of the Matatu was allegedly Overspeeding before he allegedly lost control of the vehicle which is reported to have killed 15 passengers on the spot. 5 others died on their way to the hospital.
While reacting to this incident, Kenyans who took to their different social media accounts to express their opinions and suggestions on the matter have sent their heart felt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased claiming that it was so unfortunate that the deceased had to die in such a manner
