High-flying Nigerian music sensation Mayorkun, who has been riding high with his latest hit ‘Certified loner,’ is set to land in Kenya on Friday as his much-anticipated concert roars into action this weekend.
The singer is expected to land at the JKIA in the afternoon to meet a charged fanbase that can’t wait to join him at the Ngong Racecourse for a sizzling night of unbridled entertainment.The singer, who was last in Kenya in 2017, has also been widely-praised for his verse on the ‘Sugarcane’ remix; a song which was originally done by Ghana’s Camidoh but quickly shot up the Kenyan charts after the sizzling remix.
Seaking to the media ahead of the singer’s arrival, Party Verse Marketing Director Eve Ngami said the company is all about changing the game in the entertainment arena and also about preaching peace ahead of the August 9 General Election.
“It is going to be a platform for African artists to engage as creatives and form mash-ups. It is going to be a platform where they can give an explosion of creativity, passion, and talent that is globally recognized and appreciated,” she said.
“It will also be a platform to preach peace to Nairobians and Kenyans at large seeing that we are in the election homestretch and a lot happens during the period before and after elections. Mayorkun is fully aware of the work ahead of him – entertain Kenyans and also bring a message of peace.”
Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime Baraza, Nviiri the Storyteller, and Jovial are set to rock the stage before Mayorkun takes the reins.Joining the Kenyan stars will also be a fleet of other notable names including Fred Omondi, DJ Lisney, DJ Kronix and DJ Seme.Radio Citizen’s Willy M Tuva will also make a maiden appearance and keep revelers on their feet.
