A motorist died on the spot on Thursday evening, while two passengers, including a candidate for an MCA seat in Mumias West Constituency, were left seriously injured.
Abdalla Yeswa, who is running on the ANC ticket, was left seriously injured.The car the group was travelling in had an accident in Mwira area, on Matungu Road towards Ogalo.
According to witnesses, the group was returning from political campaigns in Matungu, heading to Mumias, when their car hit a motorcycle and rolled several times before hitting a nearby tree causing the death of the driver of the car while two were injured.
The boda boda rider suffered minor injuries, while the motorcycle he had mysteriously disappeared from the scene.The motorist’s body was taken to St Marys Mumias Mission Hospital, while the injured were rushed to other hospitals in the area for treatment.
