Former Tahidi High actor Joseph Kinuthia popularly known as Omosh has told a journalist that he is not doing well.
Speaking in a recent interview, Omosh described his current situation as depressing.
“I’m just going through a lot, I don’t know if it’s stress or what’s happening in my life,” he said.
During the interview, Omosh said he was somewhere trying to figure out how he would get home after his friend invited him to work and refused to pay him.
“Like right now, I’m just thinking about how I’m going to get to my home in Kayole. I was called for some work but I was not paid, so I’m stuck.”
Omosh also hinted that he no longer lives with his family.
“I have lost everything in my life, my wife, and everything is lost,”.
The last time Omosh was seen in public was when he was being prayed for in Pastor Kanyari’s church a few months ago.
The actor who was awarded a house revealed he has not moved to that place as his children are in school and there is no school nearby.
The house in Malaa was handed over to Omosh in June 2021 after he came to the public claiming he was about to be evicted due to the challenge of paying rent.
The actor has been addicted to alcohol since another video of him asking Kenyans for help went viral.
Concerns arose later that the actor was struggling with alcoholism, thus misusing more than one million shillings he received.
Joseph Kinuthia’s problem with alcoholism started in Nyeri County, during his youth.
In an in-depth interview with the Mount Kenya Star newspaper, Omosh said he grew up surrounded by family members who drank alcohol, and thus had an early taste.
“Nikiwa bado kijana katika Kaunti ya Nyeri, tayari nilikuwa nikijaribu kunywa pombe kutokana na shinikizo la rika na kwamba nilikulia katika jamii ambayo watu wengi wakiwemo familia yangu walikunywa vileo mbalimbali ikiwemo pombe. Hii ilinifanya nikue mlevi,” Omosh said.
His behavior worsened when he moved to Nairobi, where money and fame exacerbated the alcoholism.
“As an actor of Tahidi High, I used to drink 10 beers every day without feeling anything. Being a famous person, I often went to parties, or clubs after being invited by friends or various organizations that gave free drinks,” he added.
