The information of a university student who was said to sell one of his kidneys to buy a new iPhone 14 pro max phone for his girlfriend has really surprised Netizens.
The news published in many media outlets in Nigeria explained that the young student of the University of Port Harcourt went beyond the limits in showing his love for his girlfriend by mortgaging one of his kidneys to buy her a gift of a smart phone.
It was reported that he bought his girlfriend an expensive phone because of the extent of his love for her.
Photos circulating on social media shows him holding an iPhone while showing off his stomach with a plaster cast on the right side near where the kidney is supposed to be.
A social media user uploaded the story, writing;
“A Uniport student has just sold his kidney to buy his Girlfriend an IPHONE 14. He also says he loves the girl” The story read.
Netizens were surprised by the act, many of whom likened it to self-sacrifice, while others also said it was like sacrificing oneself for love.
“My concern is whether he can make good use of this INVESTMENT of life. Does he know how to return this investment?” one asked.
The iPhone 14 was launched about a month ago by the Apple company and at an average price in Kenya it is sold for about 290, 000 Shillings.
