President William Ruto has maintained that he will not accept what he described as the opposition’s demands to share positions.
The President, who spoke in Meru county on Saturday, said he has no time for leaders seeking power through the back door.
While criticizing Azimio leader Raila Odinga, Ruto said Kenyans made their choice regarding the leadership they wanted during the August 2022 General Election.
The president also noted some politicians have not yet accepted that the election is over and it is time to serve the people of Kenya.
“It is impossible that seven months after the election we still want to return Kenyans to leadership positions,” he said.
“What I want to say is, I will not be there for such a plan on leadership positions. I have a job given to me by Kenyans which is to plan their hospitals and roads.”
Azimio leader, Raila, however, has insisted that he is not seeking reciprocity – a term used to refer to power sharing, saying he is seeking just causes for the benefit of Kenyans.
He selected seven representatives to join the Kenya Kwanza team for talks on various issues including electoral reform.
The President continued to say that street protests will not provide a solution to anything, including the high cost of living.
”Putting Pots on their heads will not solve anything, let’s go back to our farms,” he added.
