BREAKING : Pastor Ezekiel Odero arrested for alleged activities in his church.

Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Center and Church has been arrested for alleged extremist preaching to the public.

He was arrested a day after being questioned for a long time on the allegation that his church is also involved in witchcraft.

Commissioner for Coastal region Rhodah Onyancha said the preacher was arrested in Mavueni area, Kilifi County.

She said this was because there were alleged deaths reported in his church.

She also ordered the closure of the New Life Prayer Center and Church.

“He is being brought to Mombasa for questioning. More information will be provided,” she told reporters.

Police familiar with the incident confirmed wednesday’s call was prompted by the ongoing exhuming of bodies from a field in Shakahola Forest.

The farm is associated with pastor Paul Mackenzie of Good News International Church.

He is currently at the Coastal Police Headquarters.

The preacher denied the allegation of witchcraft in his church in front of Kilifi police officers on Wednesday.

So far, more than 95 bodies have been exhumed from graves in the forest, officials reported.
