Two brothers have been jailed for seven years after being found guilty of illegally possessing a hippopotamus tooth weighing 1.9 kg and worth Sh50,000.
Shanzu Court judge, David Odhiambo, said there was sufficient evidence presented against the defendants Joseph Molel and Joshua Molel.
The court was told that the offenses were committed on July 29, 2021 in Mtwapa, Kilifi County.
The prosecution led by Nadrat Mazrui presented four witnesses.
The two were also accused of being involved in illegal wildlife trade without a permit.
