Former Rombo MCA Dies after a long illness.

Former Rombo MCA Leng’ete Kamete will be buried at his home in Loitokitok on Tuesday next week.

The late MCA died on Monday while undergoing treatment, the family revealed and said the funeral will be held in Loitokitok on Tuesday.

Governor Joseph Lenku and the county assembly on Friday consoled the family of the late Kamete.

“I join the people of Rombo Ward, Kajiado South, to mourn the death of their former MCA, Kamete, after a long illness,” said Lenku.

The governor described Kamete as a principled and prominent leader in Rombo, and indeed, Kajiado South, in his long political career that spanned
over two decades as a councilor and later MCA in 2013 and 2017.

“He served diligently as one of the senior leaders of The National Alliance (TNA) in the first county assembly after devolution. He was a gracious man whose few words were full of wisdom,” said Lenku.

Lenku continued: “In fact, we worked hard together in my first gubernatorial bid in 2017 despite his failing health”.

The governor said Kamete was always available for consultation and, indeed, he can testify that he had the people of Rombo at heart.

“This morning, I stand with the family, friends and people of Rombo, as we face together, the destruction that comes with losing the former MCA,” said Lenku.

Kajiado County assembly speaker Justus Ngossur described the late MCA as a “compassionate and disciplined” leader who respected his fellow leaders in the assembly.
