It’s a relief for pastor Ezekiel Odero after the court reduced the time his bank accounts will be closed to facilitate the police investigation from 30 days to 14 days.
Judge BenMark Ekhubi said that the previous orders will be completed on Sunday but since it’s weekend, he will extend it until Monday.
“I will direct that you come back on Monday because the original order will expire on Sunday. I will extend the order until Monday,” the court said.
The case will be mentioned on Monday for further instructions.
In the decision, the judge said he was following the law by ordering the police to open the accounts.
He also dismissed the government’s earlier objections to Odero’s request for reconsideration of the order freezing his accounts.
On Thursday, a detective said they had not yet completed an audit of the accounts.
