Philomena Welegwa mwamburi, known to many as Dilly Ronalds Abeid, was born and raised in Taita Taveta County.
Born in a family of six girls, as the 4th child, her sister, a last born died in 2016.
Raised in a poor family, she was lucky to complete primary school in 2002 and could not join secondary school due to lack of school fees.
Her father at that time, had no money to take her to school, this forced her to drop out and stay at home for two years before joining high school in 2005 when she completed in 2008.
Having completed high school with no job opportunity prompted her to do volunteering works to keep herself busy.
While doing voluntary works in nearby hospitals in magongo, where her passion for charity works begun.
She worked from 2012 to 2018, before getting involved in politics and campaigning for her candidate in the ward, with confidence of ending poverty.
She campaigned day and night while encouraging residents to vote for Jacktone Oluoch madialo as their MCA.
Life changed for good after her candidate was declared the winner in Coastal Province, which led her to work in the secretary’s office in the county assembly office.
Having served her people with humility and all efforts, earned her the title “super 2023 mikindani secretary.”
Despite being a secretary, she is a humanitarian who still does volunteer work, as her new door of opportunities opened, her husband was also lucky enough to join the police force
The young mother of two has set up plans to start a program called “Smiley Young Mother’s Initiative” and also write an inspirational book about herself aimed at encouraging young mothers that being a mother at a young age should not kill your dreams.
