“It’s true life is hard, leaders are not telling Ruto the truth” – UDA Secretary General, Cleophas Malala

The secretary general of the UDA party, Cleophas Malala has criticized leaders who work close to the government wing for not telling President Ruto the truth about the high cost of living of the people they represent in government.

Speaking at the funeral ceremony in Kakamega, Malala admitted that despite being in Ruto’s government as a secretary, he is also a Kenyan who wakes up every morning to shop and has come to the realization of the prices of essential goods have risen and life has become difficult.

“You know that being in the government is a good thing and it is also a very difficult thing. And I am a Kenyan citizen even if I am the general secretary of UDA, but as a citizen who wakes up in the morning and goes to the store, I know and I am telling the truth that the cost of living is high…” Malala said.

He criticized the leaders who work with the government for not telling the truth about the cost of living, saying that this is foolishness.

” Even if you work for the government and then come here in front of the people and say that the cost of living is not high, that will be stupidity number one. because the truth of the words is that the cost and life is high,” he said.

The former senator said that the issue of high cost of living is not left to one person to find a solution but it is the responsibility of every leader to ensure that they provide a solution for the benefit of the common citizen.

Malala criticized some leaders of Kakamega who said they go to statehouse to meet the president every time for their personal issues but when they arrive at funerals they criticize the government instead of telling Ruto the truth of the matter when they visit statehouse.

“When you get to statehouse you are there for your personal issues, but you want to say the absolute truth here, these things you come here to talk about Ayub Savula, Osotsi, and Wangwe, when you come to statehouse, I have never heard you say these words to the president.

You are coming here to talk about it,” Malala scolded them, calling them names.
