Party registrar Ann nderitu denies implementing changes in Uhuru’s party, Jubilee.

The registrar of Political Parties has refused to confirm the changes in the Jubilee party which were made by the wing of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Uhuru wing on May 22 organized a National Delegates Conference and resolved to make major changes in the leadership of the party, including expelling members opposition some members.

The NDC was determined to expel former Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega, who claimed to take over the position of General Secretary, MP Sabina Chege and National Treasurer Nelson Dzuya.

However, in a letter written on May 29 to Kioni, the registrar of parties informed Uhuru camp that the request to confirm the change was rejected due to failure to submit complete receipts.

Party registrar Anne Nderitu said Kioni did not submit a signed list of members who attended the NDC conference with their ID numbers for the office to determine the NDC.

She said this is in accordance with Article 8.1[1] and 23 of the Jubilee party constitution respectively.

The office also said Kioni
did not submit detailed copies of the conference to determine the process and the election procedure, the registrar’s office said that only duplicate extracts were submitted.

“Due to the above, the submitted documents are incomplete,” the letter signed by the Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu explains.

Nderitu said Kioni had only submitted the notice to convene the NDC meeting of May 22, 2023, the change of venue notice and the resolutions of the NDC special meeting.

During the NDC, Uhuru wing named Jamleck Kamau as the national election director to replace Kega.

The party also appointed blogger Pauline Njoroge as it’s new deputy organizing secretary while Maison Leshomo was the national chairman of the women’s league while former Secretary General Saitoti Torome was appointed as the national chairman to replace Nelson Dzuiya.

Yasin Noor was approved as deputy secretary general to replace Joshua Kutuny.

In this change, the party was to have four deputy party leaders.

They are Beatrice Gambo (strategy), Maoka Maore (operations), Joseph Manje (planning) and Kados Muiruri (mobilization).

Others who were evicted were former MPs nominated Naomi Shaban, Boniface Kinoti, Jimi Angwenyi, Mutava Musyimi and Rachel Nyamai.
