Bob Collymore Foundation (BCF) has announced it will be hosting it’s first ever Jazz Festival at the Carnivore Grounds on July 1, 2023.
In a statement on Monday, BCF said that the event will launch a series of Jazz Festivals for the Kenyan market named Bob Collymore International Jazz Series (BCIJF.)
His wife and BCIJF Festival Director Wambui Collymore expressed hope about the project, saying it will provide opportunities for more than 300 underprivileged youths to build their careers in music.
“We will promote sustainable growth of the Jazz market, while creating opportunities for disadvantaged audiences and children to experience the transformation of music,” she said.
BCF promised a lot of great artists from famous Jazz artists will be expected to grace the show.
“The event will feature impressive Nairobi Horns Project, Jacob Asiyo, the dynamic afro-fusion band Shamsi Music, Edward Pareseen, and the talented guitarist Jack Maguna,” read part of the statement.
Safaricom Youth Orchestra and DJ D-Lite will also perform at the event.
Concert tickets are on sale at Ksh.2,000 for advance tickets and Ksh.500 for students and will be available on Mookh online ticketing platform.
Since it’s launch in 2020, Bob Collymore Foundation has worked in creating platforms that promote sustainable business, promoting arts and inspiring business for good.
The foundation was established by the family of the late Collymore in his honour.
