“I know my mother and son are dancing to my songs in heaven” – Davido.

Nigerian star singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has said that although people expected a lot of sad songs when his album ‘Timeless’ dropped, he sang happy and festive hits, because he knew his mother and son are dancing in heaven.

Davido revealed this in an interview with the Million Dollar Worth Of Game Podcast, published on Monday.

He said, “I looked at myself in the mirror and said, bruh, apart from me being on top of myself, I know I have many people who love me, many people who rely on me, my son is watching me up there, he wouldn’t want me to be like a wretch.”

The artist said that many of the songs he sang on the album which he released a few months after the death of his only son, were encouraged by the late Ifeanyi, his son knows that he has the responsibility to stand on the side of comfort with his mother, who is his wife and also show courage to the world by being able to endure difficulties despite such challenges and blows of bereavement.

“Apart from me being strong for his mother, which is my primary responsibility, I must be strong for the world.

A lot of people thought I was going to drop an album and there was going to be a lot of grief, man we gave them bangers after bangers.

My son is dancing, my mother is dancing in heaven too. So that people can see it is possible. Not that I wish it on anyone, I would never wish it on my enemy, you understand?

But being able to stand again and work. It’s only God, you can’t tell me anything, it’s only God. “The artist concluded.
