Three senior managers from BrownCheese Company Limited in Limuru were arrested in connection with an alarming incident
female employees were allegedly coerced into undressing at work. The managers involved, including the Quality Assurance Manager, Human Resource Manager, and HR assistant, are set to appear in court on Friday.
The distressing incident took place on Tuesday when female employees were forced to strip naked after a used sanitary pad was found in an incorrect disposal bin.
Investigations by the Gender office at Tigoni police station revealed that this was not the first time senior managers had subjected female workers to such actions.
Senator Gloria Orwoba was the first to publicly address the incident after receiving a distress call on Monday night.
She reported that the Quality Assurance Manager discovered the sanitary pad in the wrong bin and proceeded to gather all the women from the team, ordering them to undress in order to identify the person responsible. Despite her intervention, the matter escalated.
Senator Orwoba expressed her disappointment with the situation and urged all institutions to implement the Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Policy in Kenya for the benefit of all stakeholders.In conclusion, the arrests of the three managers involved in the forced undressing incident at BrownCheese Company Limited shed light on the distressing situation faced by the female employees.
