Uhuru Kenyatta Responds to Claims Regarding Azimio Protests and Gachagua’s Allegations

On Monday, the Raila Odinga-led Azimio coalition announced the suspension of the planned anti-government protests across the country.

Instead, they opted for “solidarity parades and vigil for victims of police brutality” in various locations.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta refuted claims that he is funding the Azimio protests, expressing his puzzlement over the allegations.

He also mentioned his willingness to engage with President William Ruto, his successor, if Ruto reaches out, reminiscent of his past engagements with former leaders.

Uhuru further advised Ruto to serve the country well, emphasizing that holding power is temporary, as he faced a government clampdown on his family.
