Tanzanian artist in trouble after releasing song criticizing government.

Popular Tanzanian rapper Emmanuel Elibariki also known by his stage name ‘Nay wa Mitego’ is now in trouble with the state for releasing a new song criticizing Samia Suluhu’s government.

The song “Amkeni’ although yet to make waves on radio and streets has emerged two days ago and is shared on social media platforms.

In some of the lines heard by KGC, the artist begins to introduce himself as the President of the streets, before admitting what he is going to say, many will term him as unpatriotic while claiming the country is being run the wrong way.

And he continues to say they are others who will call him an enemy of peace, as he defends himself with claims everything is public their President is raising thieves in reference to Samia Suluhu.

According to Swahili National Arts Council (BASATA) they are yet to release a statement about the song and they are looking for the artist while saying they had advised artists in the country against releasing songs that will cause commotion.

This will not be the first time he is in trouble with the State. It will be remembered in 2017, his song ‘Wapo’ was banned and even he got Arrested.

The artist through music has released several songs criticizing their Government for mismanagement and theft of public property.

The video released on July 25 has over 290,000 views and more than 4000 comments so far and features fellow artist Dora Boy.
