Azziad Nasenya attended the Kibera Law Courts for the alleged defamation case involving Brian Chira.
Last week, Chira was reportedly arrested and has remained in police custody.Nasenya, a TikToker, took legal action against fellow TikToker Brian Chira regarding the issue of defamation.
Defamation, according to the Legal Information Institute, refers to a statement that damages the reputation of a third party. This includes both written statements (libel) and spoken statements (slander).
Nasenya’s lawyer informed Mungai Eve that Chira will be brought to court for defamation and for publicly revealing Nasenya’s TikTok number during a live stream last week. The lawyer stated that Chira’s words were defamatory and led to an influx of insulting calls and messages, causing distress to Nasenya.
Due to provisions in the computer misuse and cybercrime act, Nasenya decided to pursue legal action against Chira.Chira’s arraignment took place at the Kibera Law Courts. During the court appearance, Nasenya wore a black jumpsuit, a black marvin, and a denim jacket.
