Singer Esther Akoth alias Akothee has released an update about the rumors that have been around for a while about alleged romantic relationship between content creator Azziad Nasenya and minister Ababu Namwamba.
In a statement on Monday morning, the mother of five wrote she was in touch with Azziad about the matter when the rumors were too high to bear.
During their conversation, Akothee explained to the 23-year-old tiktoker that there is no problem with her dating minister Namwamba if both of them are single.
” I have interacted with both of them (Azziad & Ababu). AZZIAD is like my daughter. When things got tight I reached out to her, I looked for her. She said she did not know why Kenyans associated her with the Minister and my words to her were, ‘Mummy, what is wrong with dating CS if he is single and ready to mingle?’.
In her response to Akothee, Azziad however indicated that there is absolutely nothing going on between her and the sports minister
“No mom, we don’t have anything, right now I’m doing my job,” Azziad answered the musician.
The musician wondered why Kenyans are making the alleged relationship between the two a big issue while noting that they are both adults who qualify to date now.
She pointed out that there are many other issues that need to be addressed apart from the alleged relationship between the two.
“This cannot be a daily headline. We have more serious matters to attend to as well. And if we continue, who demands AZZIAD and who demands the minister? The big problem apart from eating calamari and expensive wine I heard the other day in parliament?” she questioned.
She added, “Kenyans, we have big elephants in the room apart from bedroom issues. I have gone. Iwafikie.”
Last week, Minister Ababu Namwamba in an interview extinguished rumors of having an affair with Azziad Nasenya.
In an interview, the Minister said the two have no connections and expressed confidence the content creator is not experiencing special treatment in public sectors.
“No. Azziad is not my girlfriend. I really feel bad and sorry for the poor girl,” Ababu said.
He added, “You know I’ve been in politics a lot and when you work in public places you develop thick skin. People who haven’t been around the position are going through alot.”
