Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Esther Akoth known to many as Akothee has pointed out that co-parenting with former lovers is not an easy task.
In a statement on her Instagram page on Wednesday, the mother of five who is currently in France visiting her two young sons, Prince Ojwang and Prince Oyoo, pointed out that co-parenting humbles a person and teaches them several life lessons.
The musician noted that collaborating in the role of parenting requires patience, perseverance and understanding to be successful.
”Relationships will give you character development, co-parenting will humble you and teach you patience, understanding and perseverance. You will have to endure the madness that comes with parenting,” Akothee wrote.
The 43-year-old musician stated that in co-parenting, both parents should tolerate each other regardless of the welfare of the children.
“Here the children don’t stick with each other 🤣🤣🤣 you just step up and for the happiness of your children, to avoid and reduce drama,” she said.
Akothee is currently in France where her two young children live with her last co-parent, Mr Dominic Decherf. She left the country earlier this week to visit the two boys and stay with them after being away from them for some time.
On Wednesday, she spent the whole day with her sons and went with them to a hotel where they had dinner together before going to the cinema to watch a movie.
“Mommy duties,” she wrote under a video she posted on Instagram that showed her with the two boys in a restaurant where they ate chicken.
At the end of last month, Akothee surprised many after revealing that she has a WhatsApp group with her parents.
The mother of five had with three different men revealed this while praising her manager and former lover, Nelly Oaks in front of a few invited guests who attended the launch of her daughter Vesha Akello’s business on Saturday evening.
She was recognizing the great responsibilities of Nelly Oaks and explaining why it is not easy to be her manager.
“Allow me to introduce the man behind my brand, my best friend. This guy has a big heart, handling Akothee is nothing close to handling Raila or Uhuru or Ruto,” Akothee said.
She added, “Handling a woman with a WhatsApp group with the father of the children, the drama, the music.. please give Nelly Oaks a round of applause.”
However, she did not reveal many details about the WhatsApp group and whether it includes all her fellow parents or how it works.
