Bongo star Diamond platinumz suffered a great loss during a music festival held in Mtwara in Tanzania.
The artist had invited dozens of artists to play different music during the show organized by the group of Wasafi.
Less than thirty minutes after Diamond platinumz entered the stage, there was a power failure, which left the artist shocked unable to do anything, but he had to calm his fans and promise them a free concert the next day.
One of the artist’s manager, Mkubwa Fella, confirmed the loss of 93 million Tanzanians, which is equivalent to about 5.5 million Kenyan shillings.
”Hasara ni kubwa,kubwa zaidi ya hiyo kwa maana hatukuweza kuhesabu. Kwa sababu, kuna jukwaa,sauti, na uwanja vilevile,halikadhalika wasanii ikizingatiwa kwamba onyesho lilikua la bure, na lilifanywa kwa siku mbili, Tulilazikima kulipa wasanii mara mbili.’’
Adding, ‘’mwisho wa siku, mola ndiye Mpaji. Msanii alikua amecheza nyimbo nne na hivyo hatukutosheleza mashabiki.’’
In addition, the manager said
‘Tulimweka Mungu mbele maanake tulikuwa tunaonyesha upendo wetu kwa mashabiki.’’
Announcing the postponement of the concert, Diamond had this to say
‘’MTWARA!!!!!!!MTWARA!!!!! kutokana na hitilafu ya umeme jana katika show yangu,leo kuanzia asubuhi mpaka 6:00 jioni nina wasanii mbalimbali wa wasfi festivals tutakua tunaperform tena live katika uwanja wa NANWADA.’’
