Comedian turned activist Eric Omondi has officially started the journey of live broadcast on Instagram for three days in a row to raise money to help Kenyans with special needs.
Eric announced this on Tuesday evening where he said that from Wednesday – today – he will start going live on Instagram for three days non-stop to ensure that he gets money and extends a helping hand to people in need at this time when many Kenyans are going through a difficult life due to high inflation.
“Tomorrow, Wednesday, from 8pm in the night, I will start a journey to record history. I will be going live on Instagram for three consecutive days until Saturday to raise money for Kenyans in need,” he wrote.
This is not the first time the comedian who turned into an activist and defender of the underprivileged has organized an online fundraising event.
In recent days, Eric has been raising money and helping the poor to meet their needs, including food and even medical treatment.
He started raising money a few months ago when he was in England on what he called the ‘Woiyee tour’ where he intended to raise money by begging on the streets of London to help people at home.
A week later, he did the same in Tanzania where he raised more than one hundred thousand shillings which he brought back to the country and helped various people, including releasing the cell of a man who was arrested by the anti-riot police in Mathare during the protest.
Eric promised to open a shoe store for the guy and also to move his family from the shanty town to a middle-class street.
