The former Member of Parliament for Imenti North Hon Silas Muriuki has passed away.
Muriuki, 74, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, while receiving treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.
Reports indicated that he died after a long battle with an yet undisclosed illness.
Agriculture Minister Mithika Linturi praised her former colleague as a hard worker who served his people diligently.
“I have received with sadness the news of the death of my former colleague in the National Assembly and the former Member of Parliament for Imenti North, Mr. Silas Muriuki, who died today.
“The passing away of Hon. Muriuki is a great loss not only for his family, relatives and close friends. …but also for the people of Imenti North and the nation he served diligently.
May God give the family strength and courage during this time of mourning. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
