A man who fainted in the Kirinyaga field during the selection exercise to join the Kenyan army, KDF has been reported to have died while being treated at the county hospital.
According to reports, the young man identified as Francis, fell to the ground and fainted while finishing the last lap of the race in the field.
Those who were applying as new KDF officers were required to participate in light exercises to put themselves in a good mood.
After fainting, Francis was rushed to Kerugoya referral hospital where he died that evening, the report said.
“He was running with others before he fainted and died after being taken to Kerugoya Hospital. Currently, his body has been kept at Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of his death,” Kirinyaga East sub-county police commander Millicent Ochuka was quoted as saying by Citizen.
The 25-year-old young man was mentioned by his family as a righteous person who hoped that he would fulfill his long-term dream of serving the nation within the ranks of the KDF.
