The deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has once again explained in detail about his main job in the government of Kenya Kwanza.
Gachagua who was speaking on Friday said that his main job is to protect his boss President William Ruto against being approached by opposition leader Raila Odinga, saying that he has no other job besides that.
The leader gave an example saying that a few months ago when he went on an international tour in Italy, he was told that there was a rumor that Raila had started making attempts to approach Ruto and he was called and returned quickly.
”Sasa alikuwa amejaribu kuja hapo karibu na rais, juzi nimetoka nimeenda ng’ambo nilienda Italia. Walijaribu kupitia huku na kule, nikaitwa nikarudi haraka. Kwa sababu pale unajua kazi yangu pale ni rahisi sana. Kazi yangu ni kuchunga rais William Ruto, sina kazi nyingine. Hiyo ndio kazi yangu. Nikiona mtu yoyote anaweza kutatiza serikali yake, hiyo ndio kazi yangu kupambana na huyu mtu.” Gachagua said.
Gachagua said that he is currently planning to go to Colombia and Cuba to find a market for coffee farmers in this country.
He said that however, this time he is prepared because he has set traps everywhere in statehouse and there is no effective way for Raila to reach the president when he [Gachagua] is away.
”Nimeeka mtego kila corner Statehouse Nimejipanga na nko na watu wakunipigia simu, wakimuona wananipigia” he said.
Gachagua said they are aware of Raila’s history and he told him face to face when they met at a funeral meeting in Nyandarua.
”Huyu mzee wa kitendawili Raila Odinga amenikuta kwa mazishi juzi hapo Nyandarua, akaniambia ooh wewe mbona hutaki mazungumzo, kubali tufanye mazungumo. Mimi nikaamka nikamwambia mimi siogopi mazungumzo, kile kitu naogopa ni wewe. Kwa sababu mahali kote umeenda umeharibu kutoka kwa Moi, Kibaki na hata kwa Uhuru. Shida yetu na wewe ukikaribia hata Ruto tunaona atapotea. Nilimjibu hapo kwa sababu ni vizuri kuambia mtu ukweli,”
