Comedian Eric Omondi has hinted about his plan to join politics and run for a parliamentary seat in the 2027 general election.

In a telephone conversation with a local radio station, Eric revealed that he is thinking about running for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat in Nairobi County.

He said that the idea of competing for power with Jalang’o started to come to him after receiving many people recommending him to run for the seat.

“I have heard a lot about this Lang’ata. When am there i hear about it, every time am there I receive the same idea. I myself remain stunned. ” Eric said.

He added, “I haven’t said I want it but I hear it. Now it’s starting to bother me because I’ve heard so much. I myself hear with my ears, but I have not spoken with my mouth.”

Eric said that he has no choice but to consider running for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat following the great pressure that has been placed on him.

“We have to start thinking because there are many things. We are teargassed, we protest, we are arrested, we are imprisoned but when it comes time to make decisions there, those politicians who pass the Finance Bill are hurting Kenyans. Then the citizens call Erico to march but when it comes time to make decisions Erico is not there. Now it’s just a noise he makes out there,” he said.

The comedian pointed out that he along with other young leaders who have the interests of the people at heart are planning to expel all MPs who went against the wishes of Kenyans giving examples of more than 180 MPs who voted to pass the Finance Bill.

In recent months, Eric has been involved in many things related to politics, thus giving a big hint that he is planning to join the same.

The comedian recently met ODM leader Raila Odinga and his wife Ida Odinga and sparked rumors that he is preparing his way to run for a political seat. Apart from Raila and IDA, he has also been seen sharing time with other political leaders in the country.
