President Ruto has appointed former minister Phyllis Kandie as an adviser.

President William Ruto has appointed former Minister Phyllis Kandie as one of his advisers.

Kandie took to X, which was Twitter, on Tuesday, September 19, to share her new role as a Product Market Development Consultant. It was then that she thanked the president.

“I would like to thank the President for the honor he gave me to be his advisor, Product Market Development,” she said.

According to Kandie who was the Minister of East African Affairs and Labor in the government of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, the new role comes with a clear responsibility to work on improving the agricultural sector in Kenya.

“I promise to work hard with all stakeholders to ensure that his vision of revitalizing the Agriculture sector by establishing a licensed National Market for National Products, controlled and managed by the private sector that will connect the Farmer with the domestic and foreign markets is fulfilled.”

Kandie’s previous positions include being the Minister of East African Affairs and Labor from 2013 to 2018.

She also held the position of Minister of Trade and Tourism during the administration of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In addition, she served as Kenyan Ambassador to Belgium, representing the country internationally.
