A state of mourning prevailed after residents of a plot in Kagio town, Kirinyaga County after the body of a 40-year-old woman was discovered in the bathroom on Sunday night.
The woman’s body was found by another tenant who had entered the bathroom.
According to witnesses, they said the woman spent the whole Sunday sweeping her house.
A family member named Joy Wangari revealed that the woman, a mother of two, was only in a rented house for two weeks.
She added that the deceased had moved from Nairobi with her husband. she was the one who advised them to rent a house in Kagio after the high cost of living in Nairobi.
“She is a mother of two children and has only been here for a week and her husband is coming right now from Nairobi,” Wangari said as reported by the media. Wangari expressed her great shock at the sad change.
Police in the sub-county of Mwea-magharibi are investigating the cause of the woman’s death.
“We will know the cause of her death after the autopsy.” The body of the deceased was taken to Kibugi mortuary pending an investigation into her death.
