Former television presenter Kimani Mbugua has explained the suffering he is going through now after losing his job in 2020.
In an interview, Mbugua said that many people are judging him after announcing through a video he published on his Instagram page that he is going through a difficult situation to make a living.
He explained that working with Citizen TV before, leads people to not trust him when he asks for help.
“Working for television, it’s not that you receive millions, what you get paid, you get, you get bigger roles.” He said in an interview with Oga Obinna.
The journalist explained that his health was affected due to the use of drugs. This led him to resign from work after realizing that his condition has weakened in 2020.
He continued to say that he took the step of revealing his plight to the public because he needed help, no individual would have achieved, saying that so far he has received a lot of help from well-intentioned people.
“Already so far we have collected more money than I expected. And I wouldn’t have got that money if I didn’t talk about my problem.” He added.
According to his explanation, he has been receiving medical care for a year, an issue that he says separated him from people during that time.
He has said he has been suffering from depression.
Mbugua has also explained the misery he went through that night after posting the video, saying that he lacked fare to go home, thus leading him to sleep in the ditches.
In addition, he says he lacked someone to ask for phone, to use asking for at least a fare.
Obinna, praised him for the decisions he took to narrate his situation, saying that there are many young men who are going through a difficult situation like Mbugua’s but they don’t speak up to get help.
