MP Sabina Chege has opened up about her previous life before joining politics.
Speaking during an interview with the Wabebe Experience program on TV 47, the last born woman in a family of nine children said she arrived in Nairobi after finishing form 4.
““I had my own house- a one room house in Kayole that I was paying KSh1,500 per month. I used to act in ‘Tausi’ and I was involved in a sales job that paid KSh500 a day. That was good money then,” Chege explained.
“I was selected and took the role of a character named Rehema. So I acted before joining the university.”
”On that Monday I was supposed to join university, I gave birth on Sunday.” Recalling her journey, Sabina also said she used to drive matatu when pregnant and even got married before joining campus. On getting married before campus, the politician said that was her first boyfriend and relationship.
“When I was pregnant I would drive a matatu, I call squad Dagoretti,” said the politician.
She said she had not known the man for a long time
“I was very brave. I think I felt the need to get married because I was ‘very Christian’.
I thought that when you’re in a relationship you have to get married but I didn’t get married because I was pregnant.”
