NTSA extends operating hours to speed up issuance of reflective number plates.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has called on Kenyans to take advantage of the extended working hours to collect number plates and driver’s licenses.

NTSA Road Safety Manager Samuel Musumba said the move to increase working hours was due to the high demand for modern number plates.

NTSA on Friday extended its working hours in an effort to meet the needs of citizens who apply to get modern number plates and those who want a driver’s license.

In the order issued by the Director General of the Authority, their offices will now work for approximately 11 hours, from Monday to Friday.

The offices will also remain open for eight hours, for the next two Saturdays.

Msumba said the high demand for number plates and driver’s licenses has made the authority to serve thousands of people due to the increase in demand.

“The demand for number plates and driving licenses has been high, so we said to help Kenyans and provide services close to the people, we need to increase the working hours a little,” Msumba said.

“We are asking as many Kenyans as possible so please take advantage of our extra hours, come we serve you, we have service desks now everywhere, any issues we will take care of, you don’t need to worry,” Musumba said.

Under the new working hours, all NTSA Halls and Offices will operate Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 6.00pm.

Additionally, the offices will remain open to the public on Saturday, September 30, 2023, and Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to clear the backlog.
