”I am not afraid of threats from ODM”-Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.

On Friday, October 6, President William Ruto began his development tour in Luo Nyanza. Ruto started his visit on the shores of Lake Victoria where he launched the Kabonyo Fishing and Aquaculture service in Nyando, Kisumu county.

Later, the Head of State went to Siaya county.

Kisumu Senator, Prof Tom Ojienda, was among the leaders of the political class who accompanied the president throughout his visit.

The senator is among the elected leaders of ODM who have been deregistered by the party due to their close relationship with the administration led by Ruto.

Speaking in the Gem constituency, during the thanksgiving service of the local MP Elisha Odhiambo, the Kisumu senator said he is not afraid of threats from the ODM party.

The senator said he could have already resigned from ODM and plan to be re-elected to another party but the lack of IEBC commissioners has delayed his action. Currently, IEBC does not have a single commissioner and the recruitment process is expected to be led by a bipartisan team.

“I am not afraid of ODM. In fact, I could have already resigned from my seat and sought re-election but at the moment we do not have IEBC commissioners. I wish those commissioners were there,” noted the Kisumu senator.

Furthermore, Prof Ojienda, who acted as a lawyer representing the Azimio coalition during the hearing of the presidential petition case at the Supreme Court, said that president William Ruto will win the second term with a majority of votes.
