”I will work with Ruto for development agenda” – Governor Orengo.

Siaya Governor James Orengo has saidthe politics of the country’s leadership has settled down and he will continue to work with the national government.

Speaking in Siaya during President William Ruto’s visit to the area, Orengo said the Constitution is clear that county governments must work in collaboration with the national government.

Orengo said that while he is still in the ODM party, he is happy that the president was not deploying weapons of political development but is going around the country in search of development.

“The constitution says that the county governments must work with the national government, nobody will ask me why I came here; about politics, we are playing, the constitution solved that,” Orengo said.

Orengo said that he will work closely with Ruto for development as stipulated in the Constitution.

“We have come here because of development and not politics, when I got information that the President will come for development, I said I will attend,” he said.

“I want it to be known that I came here for development and not to play politics, politics will wait for its day.”

The governor said he will remain strong in the ODM party but will also work closely with Ruto who he said was a former member of the Orange party.

“Even if you come here and I am not around, please feel welcomed, because as the president, you have the freedom to visit any part of the country for development,” he said.

The governor said despite the fact that the president is free to visit Siaya for development, he should also allow him to Sugoi to talk about ODM’

”All these people here were ODM, the president was ODM, Ochieng’ and Owalo were also ODM; I am also in ODM for good,” he said.

The head of the region said he is against the claim that in order for any region to develop, the leaders must join the government.

“What I am against is that you have to go to State House to get progress, that is a lie,” he said.

The Governor promised Ruto he will not shy away from working with the Kenya Kwanza administration to ensure that the people of Siaya get development like other areas.
