Singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth alias Akothee was recently seen sharing a meal with her longtime business partner, Mwenda Thuranira.
The mother of five published some photos and videos of her meeting with the businessman where she was heard jokingly flirting with him.
“Guys, meet Mwenda the 8th. So, I will be Ms Mwenda, ah ah Thuranira the 8th,” Akothee was heard saying in the video while laughing.
The 43-year-old musician however continued to clarify that her meeting with Mr Thuranira was only about business.
“We are having a business lunch meeting on Saturday. I know many of you say, no Saturday. Businessmen, we don’t have Saturdays, we don’t have Mondays, we have to work,” she said and went on to talk about some of Mwenda’s investments.
The meeting between the two however left some netizens talking while some seemed to take Akothee’s joke about ‘Mwenda the 8th’ seriously.
A Facebook user even tried to convince the mother of five to marry Mwenda and mentioned some of the benefits of getting married in the Meru community.
“Now make Thuranira the 8th and come to Meru. We cook green porridge for you that you will be craving every day,” Rodah Marangu told her.
In her response, Akothee noted that she never dates a man who is already married.
“I don’t do married men,” she replied.
Meaning, “I don’t date married men.”
This comes at a time when there are many rumors that the singer’s marriage to Dennis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer is over and the two are no longer together.
Recent social media activity has fueled the break-up rumors as netizens are desperate for answers.
Some of the things that have left people talking are Akothee admitting that she has not been psychologically well in the past few months, the singer stopping identifying herself as ‘Mrs Omosh’ on Instagram and Omosh’s account being deactivated.
Mister Omosh’s Instagram account was deactivated on Monday fueling speculation that there may be some issues yet to be revealed. The account had about 72,000 followers before it disappeared. However, it’s not clear whether the account has been temporarily or permanently disabled.
Akothee had already unfollowed the account before it was deactivated and had also deleted several photos of her husband. The mother of five had also made several changes to her Instagram account, removing the name ‘Mrs Omosh’ from her profile.
