Bongo Artist and WCB Boss Diamond Platnumz has asked Tanzanians to support President Samia Suluhu because she is leading the country in a state of economic turmoil.
Speaking in Iringa, Tanzania before his concert, Diamond explained Samia Suluhu is a President who is eligible to be given the chance to lead the country.
Diamond who seemed to support her leadership also opposed the opposition saying they are acting as obstacles by spreading false information about her leadership.
”Ni mara ya kwanza kuwa na Rais ambaye ni mwanamke. Ikiwa mama zetu wangeweza kutuongoza,yeye angeshindwa vipi? Lakini wako wanaotaka kuwa kikwazo anapotumia uongozi wake. Hata hivyo wanaume kama sisi tuliolelewa na single Mothers inabidi tuungane na tuungane nyuma yake kwani anaongoa vyema” He said.
He challenged everyone present to give respect and love to the President as they did their mothers and parents.
”Kama unampenda na kumheshimu mama yako aliyekulea hadi hapo ulipo basi amini kuwa Rais ambaye kwa sasa yuko kitini anaweza kutuongoza vyema. Hata wakati amabpo raia wengine wanapoinuku dhidi yake kueneza hadithi mbaya na za uongo,lazima tujitokeze. Hii ni mara ya kwanza tuna kiongozi wa kike anayewakilisha. Basi usiwasikilize wabadhirifu wanaotaka kumharibia sifa yake.”
In September, opposition leader and former presidential candidate Tundu Lissu was arrested for alleged illegal assembly.
Lissu, the vice chairman of the main opposition party in Tanzania, has been holding political meetings in the country since he returned from exile in January, criticizing the administration of President Suluhu for her human rights record.
Although he was released on bail, Lissu remains a fierce critic of the administration led by Suluhu.
