15 Zimbabwe MPs lose seats because of fake letters.

15 opposition MPs in Zimbabwe have filed an appeal in court saying they were deceived to lose their parliamentary seats.

This has come after one person who claimed to be the Secretary of the party falsely said the MPs are no longer members.

When he received the fraudulent letter, the speaker of Zimbabwe’s parliament announced that 15 seats were vacant.

The results of the by-election could hand the ruling Zanu-PF party the majority it needs to amend the constitution.

Monday’s letter was signed by “Sengezo Tshabangu”, who claimed to be the general secretary of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), the main opposition party in Zimbabwe.

It was full of grammatical errors

CCC leader Nelson Chamisa asked speaker Jacob Mudenda to ignore the letter saying the party does not have a general secretary and has not dismissed or returned any member of parliament.
