
A Kenya Airways plane traveling from the country to London, England on Monday afternoon had to make an emergency landing after one of its passengers fell ill while on board the plane.
Kenya Airways confirmed in its statement on Tuesday morning that the incident happened around 2pm on Monday.
According to the company, the crew of the plane assisted by three paramedics on the plane provided medical assistance to the passenger before the plane made an emergency landing for further treatment.
“Kenya Airways PLC (KQ) confirms that on Monday, 9 October 2023, at around 14:19 KQ100 traveling from Nairobi to London Heathrow, declared a medical emergency after a passenger fell ill,” a Kenya Airways statement said.
They added, “The flight attendants assisted by two doctors and one nurse provided medical assistance to the passenger while the captain declared a medical emergency to the Air Traffic Control Unit (ATC) so that the plane could land quickly for passenger. get more treatment.”
The airline continued to say that the safety of their passengers will always be their priority.
