The two-way talks between the ruling party Kenya Kwanza and the side of Azimio La Umoja continued on Wednesday.
According to information from the National Negotiation Committee with 10 members leading the negotiations will be held privately to discuss complex issues while also considering the views of Kenyans.
The committee will continue to discuss its five-point agenda; Unfinished Constitutional Matters; Right to election and related matters; establishment of Government offices; and Loyalty to Political Parties/Unions and the law of multi-party democracy.
Azimio previously said it would take alternative measures if the talks proved hopeless.
Raila and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka last month said the opposition would not waste time in talks without a sign that their issues would be addressed.
”Before we talk about 2027 election, we must resolve 2022 and that is why we have bilateral talks. We want to resolve the injustice in the election,” Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said.
Raila said they stopped the protest against the government to give room for dialogue but if the administration of President William Ruto does not cooperate, they will not hesitate to announce another way to present their grievances.
The recent protests resulted in the death of several people while many others were injured. According to reports by humanitarian organizations, most of the dead had gunshot wounds.
