Former Bongo Artist Vanessa Mdee for the first time has opened up about her long and difficult journey of raising her two children she had in less than two years.
The artist who has cooled down musically since she fell in love with the American artist and actor with a Nigerian background, Rotimi and even moved to the United States completely, told this through her Instagram page.
The mother of two said that outside it’s very easy to see a mother smiling with her child in her arms, but it is difficult to understand the long and difficult journey she goes through to raise her children.
One of the challenges Mdee mentioned in raising her children is not sleeping until midnight trying to make the child sleep, not eating because of spending a lot of time raising the child and forgetting if you needed to eat among other disasters.
“Until you become a mother, no one can understand what being a mother entails. Sleeping late, waking up early, not eating all because you are busy taking care of your children. Whether you have an assistant or not, a mother’s work cannot be completed,” Vanessa Mdee said.
The artist said this is why many mothers forget themselves and come to realize late they suffered from problems of depression and stress due to spending a lot of time in taking care of children and not taking care of themselves.
“No one understands the courage and mental toughness that you need when it comes to being a mother. Not being able to rest your mind because it is at work day and night. Being a mother is 100 jobs in one,” she added.
Mdee used the opportunity to give a message of encouragement to other mothers who feel tired of parenting.
“For all the mothers struggling trying to find peace and go through all the things, just remember you are a good mother,” Vanessa Mdee wrote.
