Content creator, Andrew Wambua Mboya, popularly known as Tom Daktari, has expressed his satisfaction after selling out his first international comedy show in Tanzania.
The star who emerged as the best content creation winner for TikTok in the Pulse Influencer Award 2023, took to his Instagram page to thank his fans after the performance.
“Here to thank God again. My first international comedy performance was huge. Thank you Tanzanians for the love,” he wrote.
Doctor Tom’s rise to fame is a testament to his talent and hard work. In an earlier interview, the comedian revealed the challenges he faced while pursuing his dreams.
Tom remembered a time in his life when he tried to start a business selling eggs. On the first day, he managed to sell only 10 of the 30 eggs he had. Tom attributed the failure of his business to a lack of understanding of how the market operated.
”Egg business should have eggs, onions and tomatoes. I just went with eggs and tomatoes, and the customers asked me why this one doesn’t have onions, and they refused to eat it,” he shared.
After his business hit rock bottom, Tom Daktari started a fruit selling business, which also failed. It was then that he decided to explore his talents in acting and comedy.
Tom shared the challenges he faces when he struggles to continue promoting his approval, saying, there are some people who copyright his comedy works, while others use fake accounts to make themselves famous.
Tom’s success is a reminder that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. He is an inspiration to many, and his story shows that it is never too late to pursue your dreams.
