Kenyan socialite and businesswoman, Vera Sidika recently hosted a lavish birthday party for her two-year-old daughter, Asia Brown.
On Tuesday, the mother of two shared several photos and videos of the lavish ceremony and as usual, Kenyans did not hesitate to comment. A group of fans congratulated Vera for the beautiful party and wished Asia a happy birthday while others blamed her for allegedly not inviting her fellow parent, Fredrick Mutinda alia Brown Mauzo.
Following a lot of criticism, the 34-year-old socialite decided to break her silence and explain the reason why the singer did not show up at the party.
”I’m tired of this: Where is the baby daddy business on my page. You all know nothing about what is happening,” Vera wrote via Instagram stories.
In her explanation of the absence of the father of her children, she said the other parent was invited to the ceremony but did not come.
“I invited him to his daughter’s birthday just to make it memorable for her special day. To stay here, and have their time. He didn’t want to show up and said it wasn’t a good thing for him to be at her birthday party,” Vera explained.
Vera added, ” Is it my fault? I have to carry him? force him to attend his daughter’s birthday?? No!!”
The mother of two made it clear that Brown Mauzo’s plans to reveal the face of their son, Ice Brown, did not stop her from inviting the co-parent.
She wrote she took the initiative to invite the Coast-born singer despite ruining her plans as she considers her children as the main priority in life.
“I am not a selfish mother. But you can’t force someone to think a birthday is not an ordinary day, it is a special day to celebrate your child. I would never miss it for the world. I rushed back from America, just so I wouldn’t miss my daughter’s birthday. But not everyone sees that importance,” Vera wrote, seeming to throw a jab at her fellow parent.
She noted she was pushed to open up about all of that following many attacks on social media, with many claiming she refused to invite the ex-husband.
